What is an ICCID?

Edited

An ICCID (19-20 digits) is a unique identifying number specific to a SIM card. Both physical and eSIMs have an ICCID number recorded in Dashboard. The ICCID number is used to assign a SIM card to a device.

Where can I find the ICCID?

Physical SIMs:

  • On the back of the larger plastic card that enclosed the SIM card under the bar code.

  • On the SIM card itself.

eSIMs:

With an eSIM plan, the end user can use their activation code or QR code to configure your plan. If you're needing to verify the ICCID of an eSIM before it's been installed on your device, you can do this via:

  • The confirmation email you received from Gigs

  • Your user profile in Connect

However, you can find the ICCID of an eSIM that's been installed on your device by doing the following:

iPhone/iPad:

  • Go to 'Settings'

  • Go to 'General'

  • Click on 'About'

  • Scroll down until you find the ICCID for the eSIM that's installed on your device

Android:

Please keep in mind that the specific setting names and set up can vary by device and model. If you're having trouble locating the ICCID on your device, please reach out to your provider for support.

  • Open 'Settings'

  • Scroll down and select 'About Phone' or 'About Device'

  • Look for an option that says 'SIM Status' or 'Status'

  • Locate the ICCID or 'SIM Serial Number'

OR:

  • Open 'Settings'

  • Go to 'Connections'

  • Open 'SIM manager'

  • Click on the SIM you would like to see the ICCID for

OR:

  • Open 'Settings'

  • Click on the search button (usually a magnifying glass)

  • Search for "SIM" or "SIM manager"
