Expired SIMs

Edited

Overview

When working with T-Mobile SIMs, it's important to keep in mind that these SIMs come with an expiration date. The expiration date is 2 years after the SIM was produced, and will typically be printed on the SIM card itself.

Expiration dates are unique to T-Mobile and are not something that AT&T has.

What does this expiration date mean?

When a SIM card has expired, it can no longer be activated with a new subscription. However, please note that the expiration date does not affect a SIM card that has already been activated.

What to do with an expired SIM?

If you have expired SIMs in your inventory, it is important to replace them with active ones. Remember, an expired SIM cannot be activated.

What happens if a subscriber or end user attempts to activate an expired SIM?

If someone attempts to activate an expired SIM, their subscription will be stuck in a pending state.
