Lines associated with FirstNet accounts are managed separately from standard AT&T consumer or business accounts and often include enhanced security measures that can interfere with number portability.
Customers looking to transfer a number from FirstNet to Gigs should first convert the line to a standard AT&T postpaid account. This step removes FirstNet-specific restrictions and significantly increases the likelihood of a successful port.
This conversion cannot be completed online or over the phone. The customer must visit a physical AT&T retail location with valid identification to request the account change.
Once the line has been moved to a standard AT&T account, the number can be ported to Gigs without issue.
