Most importantly: subscribers should not cancel their old carrier account until their number port has been completed and their new plan is active.
About porting:
Number porting takes place from one carrier to another. The intent of porting is to open a new account with another carrier using the same phone number. A subscriber originally has a phone number and associated account with a donor carrier.
Instructions on porting into Gigs:
The number porting request can be completed by entering the required information in the Dashboard during new subscription creation.
Subscribers should make sure to obtain their account information from their old carrier in order to complete the process. An account holder will receive an Account Number and PIN to provide to Gigs to initiate the port-in.
A provider can complete a number porting request on behalf of a subscriber during subscription creation.
