T-Mobile SIM Exchange
Welcome to our comprehensive guide on the T-Mobile SIM Exchange. In this document, we will explain what a SIM Exchange is, how it operates, and its implications for you and your users. Let’s get started!
What is a T-Mobile SIM Exchange?
A SIM Exchange is the process of replacing your existing inventory of SIM cards with a new and enhanced inventory. This entails sending us your current SIMs, and in return, we will provide you with new SIMs at no cost.
To initiate the exchange, simply contact your account manager, who will assist you throughout the process.
At Gigs, we are dedicated to optimizing our supply to ensure our customers experience the best connectivity possible. We have identified an opportunity to enhance our service with these new SIMs, which will enable us to introduce features to our telecom plans that are not available with our current inventory. Please be assured that no other networks will be impacted by this change.
It is important to note that moving forward, all T-Mobile SIM orders will be fulfilled with the new SIMs.
What if there are existing T-Mobile SIMs in circulation?
We recognize that it can be difficult to predict when existing inventory will be utilized. If you have SIMs that are pre-installed in devices or otherwise in circulation that cannot be swapped, there is no need for concern! Both types of SIMs can be supported simultaneously.
What are the differences between the SIMs?
The new T-Mobile SIMs utilize dedicated plans, which means you will notice duplicate T-Mobile plans in your Dashboard. You can differentiate between these plans using the following framework:
Provider: T-Mobile (p5) - Existing plans for activating existing SIMs
Provider: T-Mobile (p13) - New plans for activating new SIMs
Within the Plans tab, you can view the SIM type for each plan under the Provider column:
Additionally, you can use the Dashboard to confirm the provider for the SIM (existing p5 or new p13) for individual SIMs by navigating to the details page for said SIM where the information would be under "Network Provider":
How will this affect users?
Your existing SIM inventory will continue to function normally for users, ensuring there are no interruptions to service, activation, or ongoing use. When users activate their SIM, our system will only display plans compatible with the SIM (ICCID) they have entered. They will not notice any duplication, and there will be no changes to their activation flow.
How can you swap between the SIMs?
