How to change the ring time before voicemail is triggered

Edited

If you are wanting to increase or decrease the number of rings that happen before your voicemail is triggered, please follow the instructions per the carrier of your SIM card.

Please note that this is set as length of ring time vs the amount of rings:

,

  • 1 ring = ~6 seconds

T-Mobile:

  1. From your mobile device, dial **61*(your phone number)**(number of seconds)#.

  2. For "(your phone number)", please use your 11-digit phone number (including 1 and the area code).

  3. The "(number of seconds)" will be a numerical value from 5 to 30 in 5 second increments. This is the amount of time that you want your phone to ring before going to voicemail.

  4. Example of how this would look: **61*15555555555**15#

    1. If your phone number was 1-555-555-5555 and you wanted a 15 second ring time before your voicemail activates.

AT&T:

  1. From your mobile device, dial **61*+(your phone number)*11*(number of seconds)#.

  2. For "(your phone number)", please use your 11-digit phone number (including 1 and the area code).

  3. The "(number of seconds)" will be a numerical value from 5 to 30 in 5 second increments. This is the amount of time that you want your phone to ring before going to voicemail.

  4. Example of how this would look: **61*+15555555555*11*15#

    1. If your phone number was 1-555-555-5555 and you wanted a 15 second ring time before your voicemail activates.

Please note that there are sometimes device limitations that will prevent the ring time from being changed. If you are running into an issue with changing your ring time, please reach out to your provider for additional assistance.
