Can I keep my number if I choose to end my subscription?

Yes, but there are a couple of things to keep in mind:

The phone number will need to be ported out:

If you are curious about what porting is, and how to go about doing it, please refer to this article.

In short, you will want to contact your current provider to ask for port out credentials. The credentials will consist of an Account Number and PIN. You will then provide these credentials to your new provider so that they can initiate the port request to move your phone number over to them.

The port will need to happen within a certain timeframe:

It is important to know that you cannot keep your phone number indefinitely if you do not have an active subscription with that phone number. If you cancel your subscription, you have 60 days from when that subscription ended to keep your phone number. If it's been over 60 days, there's no guarantee that your phone number hasn't been release by the carrier.

The best practice would be for you to port your phone number out to a new provider *before* cancelling your current subscription with your current provider.
