Guide: Portings Tab

Guide to the Portings Tab (Portings View, Portings Page)

Updated over a week ago

Portings Tab

This tab only shows lines that have a port IN request associated with them, and does not show port out requests.

You can read more about the porting process here, and porting out here.

How to get here:

Within the Gigs dashboard, you will see the "Portings" section on the left. Alternatively, you can go here (you will need to be logged into your Gigs dashboard with the correct permissions in order to view).

What's here:

There are various tabs and information displayed on this page:

Tabs:

  • All: Shows all port in requests

  • Action Required: Port ins that require something to be done before they can be successful, such as information needs to be provided or corrected

    • Filters by Declined and Information Required

  • In Progress: Port in requests that have been submitted and are awaiting a response from the current provider/carrier

    • Filters by Pending and Requested

  • Draft: Port in requests that were started, but were not finished nor submitted

  • Completed: Port in requests that have been successfully completed

  • Ended: Port in requests that have been cancelled

    • Filters by Canceled and Expired

Information about the Port:

  • Phone Number: The phone number that is needing to be ported over

  • Status: The current status of the port in request

  • Message: The decline or status message (if applicable)

  • Recipient: The network the user is porting to

  • Donor: The user's current carrier (also referred to as the donor carrier or losing carrier)

  • Created: When the port in request was created

  • Last Updated: When the port in request was last updated

Statuses and Filtering:

Please keep in mind that decline statuses are sent from the current provider or carrier.

Each port in request will have a status associated with it that shows it's current state. You can use these statuses to filter your view by clicking on the Filter button > Status > and selecting the statuses you want to view.

  • Canceled: The port in request has been cancelled. If a port is still needed, a new one will need to be created.

  • Completed: The port is successful! Nothing else needs to be done.

  • Declined: There was an issue with the port, and it will need to be corrected and resubmitted.

  • Draft: The port in request was started, but was not finished, nor submitted.

  • Expired: The port in request has expired. If a port is still needed, a new on will need to be created.

  • Information Required: Required information is missing. This information will need to be provided before the port can be submitted.

  • Pending: The port in request has been submitted, and is currently under review by the current provider.

  • Requested: Similar to pending, but is mostly seen with BAN transfers.

Export:

You can Export your current view (including any filters you have selected) into a CSV file by clicking on the Export button in the upper right.

Search:

To find a specific port, you can search by either the Port ID (prt_ with a string of letters and numbers) or the Subscription ID (sub_ with a string of letters and numbers) in the search bar in the upper right.

When you perform a successful search, you will be automatically brought to that individual porting page.

Tips:

  • You can view and troubleshoot port requests without needing to look at individual subscriptions

  • You can filter for ports that require action

  • Messages (decline codes) are surfaced on the front page where applicable, so you can action ones that are easier to fix

  • Time stamps in Created & Last Updated columns can help you prioritize urgent ports

  • The CSV file can help with internal reporting or record keeping
