Calls or texts not working
Last updated: April 3, 2026
Calls and texts use a different network path from mobile data — having working data does not mean calls and texts will work.
Step 1 — Check your eSIM line is set as the default for calls
iPhone: Settings → Mobile Data → Default Voice Line
Android/Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM card manager
Step 2 — Check you have signal
Calls and SMS require mobile signal. They do not work over Wi-Fi unless Wi-Fi Calling is enabled.
Step 3 — Toggle airplane mode
Turn airplane mode on, wait 10 seconds, then turn it off. This re-registers your device on the network.
Step 4 — Restart your device
Step 5 — Test with a different contact
If other contacts work fine, the issue is with the specific number you're trying to reach.
Step 6 — Check for a network outage
Check status.gigs.com for any known issues.
iMessage and WhatsApp are not the same as SMS
These apps travel over the internet, not the mobile network. If they're not working but standard SMS is, the issue is your data connection — see ****My eSIM has no mobile data or is not connecting.
