My eSIM is showing an invalid or activation error
Last updated: April 3, 2026
This guide covers specific error messages during eSIM installation or activation.
"This QR code has already been used" or "Invalid QR code"
The profile linked to this QR code has already been downloaded. Check your device SIM settings — the eSIM may already be installed. If it's not on any of your devices and you didn't scan it, raise a request through the app.
"Unable to complete cellular plan change" (iPhone)
Usually means your device is carrier-locked. Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock must say No SIM restrictions. If locked, contact your original carrier to request an unlock.
"Couldn't add mobile plan" or "Activation failed" (Android / Samsung)
Confirm device is unlocked, ensure you're on Wi-Fi, and try the manual activation code instead of the QR code. Restart and try again.
"SIM not supported" or "Device not compatible"
Your device either has no eSIM chip or is carrier-locked in a way that prevents eSIM use. Check for an EID number. China-region iPhones and South Korea Samsung devices do not support eSIM — a different device is needed.
"No activation code found" or activation field missing (iPhone)
iOS version is too old. eSIM requires iOS 12.1 or later. Settings → General → Software Update.
Activation code accepted but nothing happens
Restart your device and check SIM settings — the profile may have been added silently. If nothing has appeared after a restart, try the other installation method (QR or manual).
