How do I port my number out?
Last updated: May 14, 2026
Porting your number out means taking your phone number with you when you move to a different carrier. The process is initiated with your new carrier — not with us.
How to start a port-out
- Sign up with your new carrier and select the option to keep your existing number
- Your new carrier will ask for your account number and an authorisation code — get these from the app under your account or plan settings (look for Port out, Transfer my number, or Get authorisation code)
- Provide these details to your new carrier — they will submit the port request on your behalf
- Your account number and authorisation code are only available in the app. We cannot email them to you. This is an FCC requirement to protect your account. If you cannot access the app, contact support and we will help you retrieve them through a secure channel.
- Keep your current SIM or eSIM active until the port completes
Do not cancel your plan before the port completes. Your plan is cancelled automatically once the port-out succeeds. Cancelling first may make your number unrecoverable.
How long after my plan ends can I port out?
You can port your number out for up to 60 days after the end of your current billing cycle. After 60 days the number is released back to the network and cannot be recovered. If you want to keep your number, request the port-out before this window closes.
How long does a port-out take?
Most port-outs complete within a few hours to one business day.
What if I just want to cancel without keeping the number?
Simply cancel your plan from within the app — you do not need to port out. See How do I cancel my plan?
