Is my device eSIM compatible?
Last updated: April 3, 2026
To use an eSIM your device needs a built-in eSIM chip and must be carrier-unlocked. The definitive test: if your device has a 32-digit EID number, it has an eSIM chip.
How do I find my EID?
Device | Where to find EID |
iPhone | Settings → General → About → EID |
Android (most) | Dial *#06# or Settings → About phone → SIM status → EID |
Samsung | Dial *#06# or Settings → About phone → Status information → EID |
Are there exceptions?
- iPhones sold in mainland China (model numbers starting with CH) — eSIM not supported. No workaround.
- Samsung devices sold in South Korea — eSIM not supported. No workaround.
Is my device carrier-unlocked?
Your device also needs to be carrier-unlocked before the eSIM will work. Check this separately → Is my device carrier-unlocked?
