My eSIM has no mobile data or is not connecting
Last updated: April 3, 2026
Use this guide when your eSIM has already been installed on your device but is not connecting to a mobile network.
eSIM not installed yet → My eSIM is not activating. Error during installation → ****My eSIM is showing an invalid or activation error.
Step 1 — Confirm the eSIM is set as your active data line
iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → Mobile Data → select your eSIM plan
Android/Samsung: Settings → Network & internet (or Connections → SIM card manager) → select your eSIM for mobile data
Step 2 — Make sure the eSIM line is turned on
iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → tap your eSIM plan → confirm Turn On This Line is enabled
Android/Samsung: Settings → SIMs → confirm eSIM is toggled on
Step 3 — Check your data allowance hasn't run out
Check your data balance in the app. If you've used your full allowance, data stops until you top up or your plan renews.
Step 4 — Toggle airplane mode on and off
Turn Airplane Mode on, wait 10 seconds, then turn it off. This forces your device to reconnect to the network.
Step 5 — Restart your device
Step 6 — Check coverage in your area
Check the coverage map in the app. If you are travelling, confirm your plan includes roaming in the country you are in. See ****Does my plan include roaming?
Step 7 — Check APN settings (Android only)
Settings → Network & internet → Mobile network → Access Point Names. If the active APN fields are blank, delete the APN entry and restart — your device should repopulate the correct values automatically. iPhone manages APN settings automatically.
